Pak vs Aus, 2nd Semi-Final, Gros Islet, St Lucia

Who says Pakistan are unpredictable? They have reached the semi-finals of every ICC tournament since crashing out of the 2007 World Cup. That's four events and four last four finishes. Moreover, since the World T20 was instituted in 2007, Pakistan have been to both finals – losing one and wining one.

Their journey in this tournament has been very different to the path they took previously. They have only won two out of five matches and managed to sneak into the semis because of the graciousness of England, who knocked New Zealand out. What a fine way it will be pay the Poms back by setting up a date with them in the final.
First, they have to overcome the only team who doesn't seem fazed by what Pakistan pitches up. Australia have had the better of Pakistan in the last ten internationals they've played, including the earlier match in St Lucia in this tournament. On that occasion, Pakistan's bowlers were expensive in conceding 191, but their batsman were hapless in being bowled out for 157.

England beat Sri Lanka - Chelsea prepare for FA Cup final - Murray through in Madrid

Wayne Rooney has brushed off concerns he may not be fully fit for the World Cup finals in South Africa.

England vs Sri Lanka, 1st Semi-Final [Highlights] (HQ)

Consistency has been England's forte in this tournament. After suffering an unlucky defeat against the Windies courtesy D/L, they have gone from strength to strength. All departments of the game have been top notch from England and they are now serious contenders for the title. However, England will now be awaiting the winner of the second semi-final between Pakistan and Australia that will be played at St. Lucia tomorrow. It is the clash between Method and Madness. We will bring you all the action live as it happens tomorrow. Until then, this is Sid V signing off along with my colleagues Srivathsa and Mayank. Good night and cheers!
Broad: We talk everyday about the slow bouncer. It is fortunately coming out well and the lads are executing it well. I am happy with the role in my side. We saw Jayawardene as the key man and delighted that I got him  early. I am more than happy that I am not batting, the batsman are playing without any fear and hopefully, we can carry it to the final. I hope the team spirit carries on into the final and we play well on that day.

Stuart Broad is the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling

England vs Sri Lanka, 1st Semi-Final [Live Streaming] (HQ)

This is a rare meeting between two teams that have only played one Twenty-20 match against each other. That was back in 2006 when Sri Lanka squeaked to victory by 2 runs. Six Sri Lankans have survived for the Islanders since that day almost four years ago, while just three of the English party are still around.
Rightfully, it's their captain, Paul Collingwood most economical bowler in this tournament, Tim Bresnan, and batsman with the highest average in the competition, Kevin Pietersen who are still around. England will be pleased to be able to welcome their batting stalwart, Pietersen, back after the birth of his child. The new father showed hurried aggression in the match against South Africa, before dashing off across the Atlantic and now that he has no such urgent business on his mind, he can be expected to be even more destructive.
Pietersen and his team-mates have more than enough incentive to play out of their socks – England have not reached a final in an ICC tournament in six years. They look in their best position to do so after lifting their limited overs game significantly in recent times. They beat South Africa in a one-day series last summer and have been building since then. Finally, it looks as though the English have the right combination to seriously challenge for a trophy.

The England line up comes up against a Sri Lankan attack that will be aided by the slow St Lucia wicket. Although both teams have had success with their spinners, the Islanders may feel they have a slight edge because of the presence of Suraj Randiv and Ajantha Mendis. Kumar Sangakkara has been equivocal about whether Mendis will play, pointing out that England have "probably played him once."
Mendis didn't play against India but with the English unused to the mystery spinner, he may make a return. Randiv has the best average among the Lankan bowlers (17.00) and has slotted into the gap left by Murali quite well. He may even be given the task of opening the bowling. Lasith Malinga will lead the pace attack which could see Chanaka Welegedara replace Thilan Thushara.
England are stronger on the seam attack front with Bresnan, Stuart Broad and Ryan Sidebottom have taken 15 of the 27 wickets claimed by England bowlers in the tournament. While they are not Shaun Tait, Dirk Nannes and Mitchell Johnson, their nagging medium pace has proved to be successful. How the three contend with Sri Lanka's highest run scorer, Mahela Jayawardene will be intriguing.
Despite failing in the match against India, Jayawardene is still their best batsman, although they have reached the healthy stage of being able to survive without a contribution from him. Sangakkara had his second decent knock against India with contributions from Tillekeratne Dilshan and Angelo Matthews leading them to the brink of victory. A special performance from Chamara Kapugedera took Sri Lanka over the line against India and a cameo like that could severely dent England's hopes.
It will be interesting to see if Sri Lanka stick with Sanath Jayasuriya in the side after his persistent short-coming with the bat. He may deserve a last hurrah, since the end, at least of his twenty-over career must be near, but the importance of winning the match could supercede that sentimentality. If he is left out, Dilshan will probably open with Jayawardene, allowing Dinesh Chandimal to come in to the middle order.
Sri Lanka have been in a final in the Caribbean before and also featured in last year's World T20 final. A trophy since 1996 is long overdue for the team. They have played with finesse and class in every match barring their walloping by Australia. They come up against a strong England team where most of the players have never been to a final and don't know what pressure to expect on the road to getting there. That could prove to be a driving factor behind England's desire to get to the top.

Teams:
Sri Lanka (From): Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara(w/c), Angelo Mathews, Chamara Kapugedera, Thissara Perera, Chinthaka Jayasinghe, Suraj Randiv, Lasith Malinga, Thilan Thushara, Dinesh Chandimal, Chamara Silva, Nuwan Kulasekara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Chanaka Welegedara

T20 World Cup: India vs Sri Lanka

T20 World Cup: India vs Sri Lanka

St.Lucia, May 11 (ANI): 'Hapless' India still has an outside chance of qualifying for the semifinals of the ICC World T20 Championship, however, a place among the last four teams would require the men in blue to play some hard competitive cricket and more importantly pray for a lot of luck.

Having lost both their previous Super Eight matches, Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men would have to beat Sri Lanka by a margin of at least 20 runs in today's (May 11) match and then hope that West Indies lose to Australia.

Currently India has conceded 63 more runs than it has scored, compared to Sri Lanka's 24. If they win by 20 runs, their difference will reduce to 43 while Sri Lanka's will increase to 44, which would thus pave the way for India to proceed to the semis.

On the other hand West Indies, which defeated India quite comprehensively in the last game are still unsure of moving further in the tournament, and would have to defeat the Kangaroos, who haven't lost a match in the tournament so far, to make it to the semi-finals. (ANI)

[UFC 113] Mauricio Shogun Rua vs Lyoto Machida

[UFC 113] Mauricio Shogun Rua vs Lyoto Machida

Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua proved at the second time of asking that he was a worthy UFC light-heavyweight champion when he knocked out Lyoto ‘The Dragon’ Machida in the first round of their title fight at UFC 113, in Montreal.

Click Here to watch the fight now!

Rua is now one of eight light-heavyweights active in the UFC roster to hold the 205lb belt, the division one of the most competitive in mixed martial arts. It is thought that the winner of Rashad Evans and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson on May 29, will challenge Rua for the belt.
Rua (19 wins 4 losses) had lost a controversial decision to Machida (16 wins 1 loss) on the judges’ cards last October at UFC 104, but in a second meeting he refused to leave his fate in the judges’ in what was a heavily anticipated re-match between the compatriot Brazilians.
